Welcome to our Queen Victoria website. This website is part of our Cunard Queens website celebrating these renowned ocean liners.

The Queen Victoria is the first purpose built cruise ship to join the Cunard fleet since the RMS Caronia of 1948, which was affectionately known as the Green Goddess. This giant new cruise ship, larger than the QE2 but smaller than the RMS Queen Mary 2 is sure to set new standards for cruising and continue the legend of the Cunard Queens well into the future.The Queen Victoria is being built by the Italian shipbuilders, Fincantieri S.p.A. and her design is inspired by Holland America Line's "Vista" class ships.

However the Queen Victoria has had a rather confusing start in life. She was originally ordered in 2001 and was scheduled to enter service in 2005.  Then it was decided that this vessel should be switched to the P&O Cruises fleet and become, Arcadia and so entered service in 2005. As a result Cunard Line ordered a replacement Queen Victoria vessel taking into account lessons learnt from the early experience with the new Queen Mary 2 and this ship is to enter service in 2007 as the Queen Victoria. In 2008 she will make her maiden world cruise thus joining the legendary QE2 and the famous Queen Mary 2 in this noble tradition.
