Welcome to our RMS Mauretania website. The Mauretania was built by Swan Hunters on the River Tyne in 1907 and will long be remembered as a legend. Indeed as a legend among those who knew her renown and acclaim as the largest, the fastest, and the most opulent liner of her time. But history will record the Mauretania as one of the enduring symbols of reliability on the North Atlantic. From her launch to the end of her service career, the Mauretania was the comparison to which all contemporary liners of the day were made.

The Mauretania was a transatlantic greyhound and holder of the coveted Blue Riband. She gave reliable service as part of Cunard Line's 3-ship weekly express service to New York. She also gave sterling service during the First World War.

This website celebrates the history of this pioneering and legendary transatlantic ocean liner and honours its unique place in maritime history in the history of Cunard Line and ocean travel in the early 20th century.
